20 For the (A)ruthless will come to an end and the (B)scoffer will be finished,
Indeed (C)all who are watching out to do evil will be cut off;
21 Who [a]cause a person to sin by a word,
And (D)ensnare him who reproves at the gate,
And [b](E)defraud the one in the right with [c]meaningless arguments.
22 Therefore thus says Yahweh, who redeemed (F)Abraham, concerning the house of Jacob:
“Jacob (G)shall not now be ashamed, and now his face shall not turn pale;

20 The ruthless(A) will vanish,(B)
the mockers(C) will disappear,
and all who have an eye for evil(D) will be cut down—
21 those who with a word make someone out to be guilty,
who ensnare the defender in court(E)
and with false testimony(F) deprive the innocent of justice.(G)
22 Therefore this is what the Lord, who redeemed(H) Abraham,(I) says to the descendants of Jacob:
