18 The deaf will hear the words in the book. The blind will see through the darkness and fog. 19 The Lord will make poor people happy. The poorest people will rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.
20 This will happen when the people who are mean and cruel have come to an end. It will happen when those who enjoy doing bad things are gone.

18 In that day(A) the deaf(B) will hear the words of the scroll,
and out of gloom and darkness(C)
the eyes of the blind will see.(D)
19 Once more the humble(E) will rejoice in the Lord;
the needy(F) will rejoice in the Holy One(G) of Israel.
20 The ruthless(H) will vanish,(I)
the mockers(J) will disappear,
and all who have an eye for evil(K) will be cut down—
