Isaiah 28:13-15
Good News Translation
13 That is why the Lord is going to teach you letter by letter, line by line, lesson by lesson. Then you will stumble with every step you take. You will be wounded, trapped, and taken prisoner.
A Cornerstone for Zion
14 Now you arrogant leaders who rule here in Jerusalem over this people, listen to what the Lord is saying. 15 (A)You boast that you have made a treaty with death and reached an agreement with the world of the dead. You are certain that disaster will spare you when it comes, because you depend on lies and deceit to keep you safe.

Isaiah 28:13-15
New International Version
13 So then, the word of the Lord to them will become:
Do this, do that,
a rule for this, a rule for that;
a little here, a little there(A)—
so that as they go they will fall backward;
they will be injured(B) and snared and captured.(C)
14 Therefore hear the word of the Lord,(D) you scoffers(E)
who rule this people in Jerusalem.
15 You boast, “We have entered into a covenant with death,(F)
with the realm of the dead we have made an agreement.
When an overwhelming scourge sweeps by,(G)
it cannot touch us,
for we have made a lie(H) our refuge
and falsehood[a] our hiding place.(I)”
