11 When its boughs are dry, they are broken;
    women come and make a fire of them.
For this is a people without understanding;
    therefore he who made them will not have compassion on them;

And I will make them eat the flesh of their sons and the flesh of their daughters, and all shall eat the flesh of their neighbors in the siege and in the distress with which their enemies and those who seek their life afflict them.(A)

10 Then you shall break the jug in the sight of those who go with you 11 and shall say to them: Thus says the Lord of hosts: So will I break this people and this city as one breaks a potter’s vessel, so that it can never be mended. In Topheth they shall bury until there is no more room to bury.(B)

I will make them eat(A) the flesh of their sons and daughters, and they will eat one another’s flesh because their enemies(B) will press the siege so hard against them to destroy them.’

10 “Then break the jar(C) while those who go with you are watching, 11 and say to them, ‘This is what the Lord Almighty says: I will smash(D) this nation and this city just as this potter’s jar is smashed and cannot be repaired. They will bury(E) the dead in Topheth until there is no more room.
