8 he has swallowed up[a] death forever!
Then the Lord God will wipe away the tears from all faces,
and he will take away the disgrace of his people
from the entire earth.”
for the Lord has spoken.
9 “And you[b] will say at that time,[c]
‘Look! It’s the Lord![d] This is our God!
We waited for him,
and he saved us.
This is the Lord!
We waited for him,
so let us rejoice,
and we will[e] be glad that he has saved us.”

10 For the Lord’s power[f] will rest on this mountain,[g]
but the Moabites will be trodden down beneath him,
just as straw is trodden down
in the slime of[h] a manure pit.

9 And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the Lord; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.
10 For in this mountain shall the hand of the Lord rest, and Moab shall be trodden down under him, even as straw is trodden down for the dunghill.
