Isaiah 25:5-7
Good News Translation

5     like drought in a dry land.
But you, Lord, have silenced our enemies;
    you silence the shouts of cruel people,
    as a cloud cools a hot day.

God Prepares a Banquet

6 Here on Mount Zion the Lord Almighty will prepare a banquet for all the nations of the world—a banquet of the richest food and the finest wine. 7 Here he will suddenly remove the cloud of sorrow that has been hanging over all the nations.

New International Version

5     and like the heat of the desert.
You silence(A) the uproar of foreigners;(B)
    as heat is reduced by the shadow of a cloud,
    so the song of the ruthless(C) is stilled.

6 On this mountain(D) the Lord Almighty will prepare
    a feast(E) of rich food for all peoples,
a banquet of aged wine—
    the best of meats and the finest of wines.(F)
7 On this mountain he will destroy
    the shroud(G) that enfolds all peoples,(H)
the sheet that covers all nations;
