The mirth of the timbrels (tambourines) ceases,
The noise of those who rejoice ends,
The joy of the harp ceases.

Isaiah 24:8

New International Version

⁸The joyful timbrels^(A) are stilled,
the noise^(B) of the revelers^(C) has stopped,
the joyful harp^(D) is silent.^(E)

¹³So I will silence your songs, and the sound of your lyres will no longer be heard.

¹³I will put an end^(A) to your noisy songs,^(B) and the music of your harps^(C) will be heard no more.^(D)
