Isaiah 23:9-11
Legacy Standard Bible

9 (A)Yahweh of hosts has counseled it, to (B)defile the pride of all beauty,
To make contemptuous all the (C)honored of the earth.
10 [a]Overflow your land like the Nile, O daughter of Tarshish;
There is no more [b]restraint.
11 He has (D)stretched His hand out (E)over the sea;
He has (F)made the kingdoms tremble;
Yahweh has given a command concerning Canaan to (G)demolish its strong defenses.

9 The Lord Almighty planned(A) it,
    to bring down(B) her pride in all her splendor
    and to humble(C) all who are renowned(D) on the earth.

10 Till[a] your land as they do along the Nile,
    Daughter Tarshish,
    for you no longer have a harbor.
11 The Lord has stretched out his hand(E) over the sea
    and made its kingdoms tremble.(F)
He has given an order concerning Phoenicia
    that her fortresses be destroyed.(G)
