Isaiah 23:9-11
American Standard Version

9 Jehovah of hosts hath purposed it, to [a]stain the pride of all glory, to bring into contempt all the honorable of the earth. 10 [b]Pass through thy land as the Nile, O daughter of Tarshish; there is no [c]restraint any more. 11 He hath stretched out his hand over the sea, he hath shaken the kingdoms: Jehovah hath given commandment concerning [d]Canaan, to destroy the strongholds thereof.

New International Version

9 The Lord Almighty planned(A) it,
    to bring down(B) her pride in all her splendor
    and to humble(C) all who are renowned(D) on the earth.

10 Till[a] your land as they do along the Nile,
    Daughter Tarshish,
    for you no longer have a harbor.
11 The Lord has stretched out his hand(E) over the sea
    and made its kingdoms tremble.(F)
He has given an order concerning Phoenicia
    that her fortresses be destroyed.(G)
