⁹^(A)You also saw the ^[a]damage to the city of David,
That it was great;
And you gathered together the waters of the lower pool.

⁹You saw that the walls of the City of David
were broken through^(A) in many places;
you stored up water
in the Lower Pool.^(B)

¹⁰You numbered the houses of Jerusalem,
And the houses you broke down
To fortify the wall.

¹⁰You counted the buildings in Jerusalem
and tore down houses^(A) to strengthen the wall.^(B)
