Isaiah 18:4-6
EasyEnglish Bible
4 This is what the Lord said to me: ‘I will watch quietly from my place. I will work quietly, like the heat that comes from the sun. I will be as quiet as the mist that comes at harvest time.’[a]
5 Then, when the grapes on the vines are nearly ready for harvest, the Lord will cut them off! He will use his knife to cut off the branches.[b]
6 Like those branches, the dead bodies of the soldiers will lie in the fields. The wild animals and the vultures will come to eat them. The vultures will feed on them all through the summer. The wild animals will eat them all through the winter.

New International Version
4 This is what the Lord says to me:
“I will remain quiet(A) and will look on from my dwelling place,(B)
like shimmering heat in the sunshine,(C)
like a cloud of dew(D) in the heat of harvest.”
5 For, before the harvest, when the blossom is gone
and the flower becomes a ripening grape,
he will cut off(E) the shoots with pruning knives,
and cut down and take away the spreading branches.(F)
6 They will all be left to the mountain birds of prey(G)
and to the wild animals;(H)
the birds will feed on them all summer,
the wild animals all winter.
