Give counsel! Execute justice! Make your shade like the night in the middle of the noonday! Hide the outcasts! Don’t betray the fugitive! Let my outcasts dwell with you! As for Moab, be a hiding place for him from the face of the destroyer. For the extortionist is brought to nothing. Destruction ceases. The oppressors are consumed out of the land. A throne will be established in loving kindness. One will sit on it in truth, in the tent of David, judging, seeking justice, and swift to do righteousness.

“Make up your mind,” Moab says.
    “Render a decision.
Make your shadow like night—
    at high noon.
Hide the fugitives,(A)
    do not betray the refugees.
Let the Moabite fugitives stay with you;
    be their shelter(B) from the destroyer.”

The oppressor(C) will come to an end,
    and destruction will cease;(D)
    the aggressor will vanish from the land.
In love a throne(E) will be established;(F)
    in faithfulness a man will sit on it—
    one from the house[a] of David(G)
one who in judging seeks justice(H)
    and speeds the cause of righteousness.
