“Give counsel,
    grant justice;
make your shade like night
    at the height of noon;
hide the outcasts,
    betray not the fugitive;
let the outcasts of Moab
    sojourn among you;
be a refuge to them
    from the destroyer.
When the oppressor is no more,
    and destruction has ceased,
and he who tramples under foot
    has vanished from the land,
then a throne will be established in steadfast love
    and on it will sit in faithfulness
    in the tent of David
one who judges and seeks justice
    and is swift to do righteousness.”

“Make up your mind,” Moab says.
    “Render a decision.
Make your shadow like night—
    at high noon.
Hide the fugitives,(A)
    do not betray the refugees.
Let the Moabite fugitives stay with you;
    be their shelter(B) from the destroyer.”

The oppressor(C) will come to an end,
    and destruction will cease;(D)
    the aggressor will vanish from the land.
In love a throne(E) will be established;(F)
    in faithfulness a man will sit on it—
    one from the house[a] of David(G)
one who in judging seeks justice(H)
    and speeds the cause of righteousness.
