8 For the cry went round about the borders of Moab, and the howling thereof unto Eglaim, and the skriking thereof unto Beer Elim,

9 Because the waters of Dimon shall be full [a]of blood: for I will bring more upon Dimon, even lions [b]upon him that escapeth of Moab, and to the remnant of the land.

8 Their outcry echoes along the border of Moab;
    their wailing reaches as far as Eglaim,
    their lamentation as far as Beer(A) Elim.
9 The waters of Dimon[a] are full of blood,
    but I will bring still more upon Dimon[b]—
a lion(B) upon the fugitives of Moab(C)
    and upon those who remain in the land.
