⁴ But he shall judge the poor with justice,
    and decide fairly for the land’s afflicted.^(A)
He shall strike the ruthless with the rod of his mouth,
    and with the breath of his lips he shall slay the wicked.^(B)

² He made my mouth like a sharp-edged sword,
    concealed me, shielded by his hand.
He made me a sharpened arrow,
    in his quiver he hid me.

¹⁴ Therefore, thus says the Lord, the God of hosts,
    because you have said this—
See! I make my words
    a fire in your mouth,
And this people the wood
    that it shall devour!—
