Hosea 7:15-16
Good News Translation

15 Even though I was the one who brought them up and made them strong, they plotted against me. 16 They keep on turning away from me to a god that is powerless.[a] They are as unreliable as a crooked bow. Because their leaders talk arrogantly, they will die a violent death, and the Egyptians will laugh.”

New International Version

15 I trained(A) them and strengthened their arms,
    but they plot evil(B) against me.
16 They do not turn to the Most High;(C)
    they are like a faulty bow.(D)
Their leaders will fall by the sword
    because of their insolent(E) words.
For this they will be ridiculed(F)
    in the land of Egypt.(G)
