Hosea 12:11-13
Good News Translation
11 Yet idols are worshiped in Gilead, and those who worship them will die. Bulls are sacrificed in Gilgal, and the altars there will become piles of stone in the open fields.”
12 (A)Our ancestor Jacob had to flee to Mesopotamia, where, in order to get a wife, he worked for another man and took care of his sheep. 13 (B)The Lord sent a prophet to rescue the people of Israel from slavery in Egypt and to take care of them.

New International Version
11 Is Gilead wicked?(A)
Its people are worthless!
Do they sacrifice bulls in Gilgal?(B)
Their altars will be like piles of stones
on a plowed field.(C)
12 Jacob fled to the country of Aram[a];(D)
Israel served to get a wife,
and to pay for her he tended sheep.(E)
13 The Lord used a prophet to bring Israel up from Egypt,(F)
by a prophet he cared for him.(G)
