Good News Translation
14 war will come to your people, and all your fortresses will be destroyed. It will be like the day when King Shalman destroyed the city of Betharbel in battle, and mothers and their children were crushed to death. 15 That is what will happen to you, people of Bethel, because of the terrible evil that you have done. As soon as the battle begins, the king of Israel will die.”

New International Version
14 the roar of battle will rise against your people,
so that all your fortresses will be devastated(A)—
as Shalman(B) devastated Beth Arbel on the day of battle,
when mothers were dashed to the ground with their children.(C)
15 So will it happen to you, Bethel,
because your wickedness is great.
When that day dawns,
the king of Israel will be completely destroyed.(D)
