Hebrews 5:5-7

5 In the same way, Christ did not take the glory of becoming a high priest on himself, but God said to him:
You are my Son.
Today I have begotten you.[a]
6 He also said the same thing in another place:
You are a priest forever, like Melchizedek.[b]
7 In the days of his flesh,[c] he offered prayers and pleas with loud cries and tears to the one who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverence.

5 In the same way, Christ did not take on himself the glory(A) of becoming a high priest.(B) But God said(C) to him,
6 And he says in another place,
7 During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions(G) with fervent cries and tears(H) to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard(I) because of his reverent submission.(J)
