² For if the message spoken through angels was legally binding^[a](A) and every transgression and disobedience received a just punishment,^{(B) 3} how will we escape if we neglect such a great salvation? It was first spoken by the Lord and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him.^{(C) 4} At the same time, God also testified by signs and wonders, various miracles, and distributions of gifts from the Holy Spirit according to His will.^(D)

⁵ These serve as a copy and shadow^(A) of the heavenly things, as Moses was warned when he was about to complete the tabernacle. For God said, Be careful that you make everything according to the pattern that was shown to you on the mountain.^(B)[a]

⁷ By faith Noah, after he was warned about what was not yet seen and motivated by godly fear, built an ark to deliver his family. By faith he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith.^(A)
