⁹ “And as for Me, ^(A)behold, I establish ^(B)My covenant with you and with your ^[a]descendants after you, ^10 (C)and with every living creature that is with you: the birds, the cattle, and every beast of the earth with you, of all that go out of the ark, every beast of the earth. ¹¹ Thus ^(D)I establish My covenant with you: Never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of the flood; never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth.”

¹² And God said: ^(E)“This is the sign of the covenant which I make between Me and you, and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: ¹³ I set ^(F)My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth. ¹⁴ It shall be, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the rainbow shall be seen in the cloud; ¹⁵ and ^(G)I will remember My covenant which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh. ¹⁶ The rainbow shall be in the cloud, and I will look on it to remember ^(H)the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.”

⁷ And I will ^(A)establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, ^(B)to be God to you and ^(C)your descendants after you.

Sodom and Gomorrah Destroyed^(A)

¹² Then the men said to Lot, “Have you anyone else here? Son-in-law, your sons, your daughters, and whomever you have in the city—^(B)take them out of this place!

^4 (A)I have also ^[a]established My covenant with them, ^(B)to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their ^[b]pilgrimage, ^(C)in which they were ^[c]strangers.

The Covenant Renewed^(A)

¹⁰ And He said: “Behold, ^(B)I make a covenant. Before all your people I will ^(C)do ^[a]marvels such as have not been done in all the earth, nor in any nation; and all the people among whom you are shall see the work of the Lord. For it is ^(D)an awesome thing that I will do with you.

²⁷ Then the Lord said to Moses, “Write ^(A)these words, for according to the tenor of these words I have made a covenant with you and with Israel.”

¹³ that He may ^(A)establish you today as a people for Himself, and that He may be God to you, ^(B)just as He has spoken to you, and ^(C)just as He has sworn to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

¹⁴ “I make this covenant and this oath, ^(A)not with you alone, ¹⁵ but with him who stands here with us today before the Lord our God, ^(B)as well as with him who is not here with us today
