²¹ When the Lord smelled the pleasing aroma,^(A) He said to Himself, “I will never again curse the ground^(B) because of man, even though man’s inclination is evil from his youth.^(C) And I will never again strike down every living thing as I have done.^(D)

¹⁹ Now, may my lord the king please hear the words of his servant: If it is the Lord who has incited you against me,^(A) then may He accept an offering.^(B) But if it is people,^(C) may they be cursed in the presence of the Lord, for today they have driven me away from sharing in the inheritance of the Lord saying,^(D) ‘Go and worship other gods.’
