Genesis 4:3-8
New International Version
3 In the course of time Cain brought some of the fruits of the soil as an offering(A) to the Lord.(B) 4 And Abel also brought an offering—fat portions(C) from some of the firstborn of his flock.(D) The Lord looked with favor on Abel and his offering,(E) 5 but on Cain and his offering he did not look with favor. So Cain was very angry, and his face was downcast.
6 Then the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry?(F) Why is your face downcast? 7 If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door;(G) it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.(H)”
8 Now Cain said to his brother Abel, “Let’s go out to the field.”[a] While they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him.(I)

Korah, Dathan and Abiram
16 Korah(A) son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, and certain Reubenites—Dathan and Abiram(B), sons of Eliab,(C) and On son of Peleth—became insolent[a] 2 and rose up against Moses.(D) With them were 250 Israelite men, well-known community leaders who had been appointed members of the council.(E) 3 They came as a group to oppose Moses and Aaron(F) and said to them, “You have gone too far! The whole community is holy,(G) every one of them, and the Lord is with them.(H) Why then do you set yourselves above the Lord’s assembly?”(I)

31 As soon as he finished saying all this, the ground under them split apart(A) 32 and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them(B) and their households, and all those associated with Korah, together with their possessions. 33 They went down alive into the realm of the dead,(C) with everything they owned; the earth closed over them, and they perished and were gone from the community. 34 At their cries, all the Israelites around them fled, shouting, “The earth is going to swallow us too!”
35 And fire came out from the Lord(D) and consumed(E) the 250 men who were offering the incense.
