⁴ May God give you and your offspring the blessing of Abraham^(A) so that you may possess the land where you live as a foreigner, the land God gave to Abraham.”^(B)

²⁴ And I promised you: You will inherit their land, since I will give it to you to possess, a land flowing with milk and honey.^(A) I am Yahweh your God who set you apart from the peoples.

⁵ Look, I have taught you statutes and ordinances as the Lord my God has commanded me, so that you may follow them in the land you are entering to possess.

The Greatest Command

6 “This is the command—the statutes and ordinances—the Lord your God has instructed me to teach you, so that you may follow them in the land you are about to enter and possess.^(A)

Israel to Destroy Idolatrous Nations

7 “When the Lord your God brings you into the land^(A) you are entering to possess,^(B) and He drives out many nations before you—the Hittites, Girgashites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites, seven nations more numerous and powerful than you—

Remember the Lord

8 “You must carefully follow every command I am giving you today, so that you may live and increase, and may enter and take possession of the land^(A) the Lord swore to your fathers.

²⁹ “When the Lord your God annihilates the nations before you,^(A) which you are entering to take possession of,^(B) and you drive them out and live in their land,

⁵ The Lord your God will bring you into the land your fathers possessed, and you will take possession of it.^(A) He will cause you to prosper and multiply you more than He did your fathers.
