⁷ The Angel of the Lord^(A) found her by a spring of water in the wilderness, the spring on the way to Shur.

¹⁷ God heard the voice of the boy, and the^[a] angel of God called to Hagar from heaven and said to her, “What’s wrong, Hagar? Don’t be afraid, for God has heard the voice of the boy from the place where he is.

¹¹ But the Angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said, “Abraham, Abraham!”

He replied, “Here I am.”

Promises and Warnings

²⁰ “I am going to send an angel^(A) before you to protect you on the way and bring you to the place I have prepared.

²³ For My angel will go before you and bring you to the land of the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Canaanites, Hivites, and Jebusites, and I will wipe them out.^(A)
