²⁹ Then Abram and Nahor took wives: the name of Abram’s wife was ^(A)Sarai,^[a] and the name of Nahor’s wife, ^(B)Milcah, the daughter of Haran the father of Milcah and the father of Iscah.

⁴ So Abram departed as the Lord had spoken to him, and Lot went with him. And Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran.

⁴³ Now therefore, my son, obey my voice: arise, flee to my brother Laban ^(A)in Haran.

⁵ So Isaac sent Jacob away, and he went to Padan Aram, to Laban the son of Bethuel the Syrian, the brother of Rebekah, the mother of Jacob and Esau.

Jacob’s Vow at Bethel

¹⁰ Now Jacob ^(A)went out from Beersheba and went toward ^(B)Haran.

⁴ And Jacob said to them, “My brethren, where are you from?”

And they said, “We are from ^(A)Haran.”

^12 (A)Have the gods of the nations delivered those whom my fathers have destroyed, Gozan and Haran and Rezeph, and the people of ^(B)Eden who were in Telassar?

^23 (A)Haran, Canneh, Eden, the merchants of ^(B)Sheba, Assyria, and Chilmad were your merchants.
