Genesis 9:4-6
New Life Version

4 But you must not eat meat with blood in it because that is its life. 5 For sure, I will take the life of every animal and every person for taking a life. I will punish every man’s brother for taking the life of man. 6 Whoever takes the life of a man will have his life taken. For God made man to be like Him.

4 “But you must not eat meat that has its lifeblood still in it.(A) 5 And for your lifeblood I will surely demand an accounting.(B) I will demand an accounting from every animal.(C) And from each human being, too, I will demand an accounting for the life of another human being.(D)

6 “Whoever sheds human blood,
    by humans shall their blood be shed;(E)
for in the image of God(F)
    has God made mankind.
