Genesis 9:4-6

⁴^(A) But life is in the blood, and you must not eat any meat that still has blood in it. ^5-6^(B) I created humans to be like me, and I will punish any animal or person that takes a human life. If an animal kills someone, that animal must die. And if a person takes the life of another, that person must be put to death.

Genesis 9:4-6

New International Version

⁴“But you must not eat meat that has its lifeblood still in it.^(A) ⁵And for your lifeblood I will surely demand an accounting.^(B) I will demand an accounting from every animal.^(C) And from each human being, too, I will demand an accounting for the life of another human being.^(D)

⁶“Whoever sheds human blood,
by humans shall their blood be shed;^(E)
for in the image of God^(F)
has God made mankind.
