²⁰ Then Noah built an altar to the Lord. He took some of every kind of clean animal and every kind of clean bird and offered burnt offerings on the altar.

⁷ Then the Lord appeared to Abram and said, “I will give this land to your offspring.”^(A) So he built an altar there to the Lord who had appeared to him.

¹⁸ So Abram moved his tent and went to live near the oaks of Mamre at Hebron,^(A) where he built an altar to the Lord.

⁷ Jacob built an altar there and called the place God of Bethel^[a] because it was there that God had revealed Himself to him when he was fleeing from his brother.
