⁶ So they took their livestock and their goods, which they had acquired in the land of Canaan, and went to Egypt, ^(A)Jacob and all his descendants with him.

¹⁷ The God of this people ^[a]Israel ^(A)chose our fathers, and exalted the people ^(B)when they dwelt as strangers in the land of Egypt, and with ^[b]an uplifted arm He ^(C)brought them out of it.
