3 Then Joseph said to his brothers, “(A)I am Joseph! (B)Is my father still alive?” But his brothers could not answer him, for (C)they were dismayed at his presence.
4 Then Joseph said to his brothers, “Please come [a]closer to me.” And they came [b]closer. And he said, “I am your brother Joseph, whom you (D)sold into Egypt. 5 Now do not be grieved or angry [c]with yourselves, because (E)you sold me here, for (F)God sent me before you to preserve life.

4 Then Joseph said to his brothers, “Come close to me.”(D) When they had done so, he said, “I am your brother Joseph, the one you sold into Egypt!(E) 5 And now, do not be distressed(F) and do not be angry with yourselves for selling me here,(G) because it was to save lives that God sent me ahead of you.(H)
