Genesis 43:7-9
Modern English Version
7 And they said, “The man asked us directly about ourselves and our family, saying, ‘Is your father still alive? Do you have another brother?’ So we answered his questions. How could we even know that he would say, ‘Bring your brother down’?”
8 And Judah said to Israel his father, “Send the boy with me, and we will arise and go, so that we may live and not die, both we and you, and also our little ones. 9 I will be a surety for him. You may hold me personally responsible for him. If I fail to bring him back to you and set him before you, then let me bear the blame forever.

New International Version
7 They replied, “The man questioned us closely about ourselves and our family. ‘Is your father still living?’(A) he asked us. ‘Do you have another brother?’(B) We simply answered his questions. How were we to know he would say, ‘Bring your brother down here’?”(C)
8 Then Judah(D) said to Israel(E) his father, “Send the boy along with me and we will go at once, so that we and you and our children may live and not die.(F) 9 I myself will guarantee his safety; you can hold me personally responsible for him.(G) If I do not bring him back to you and set him here before you, I will bear the blame(H) before you all my life.(I)
