³² So they set the meal for him by himself, and for them by themselves, and for the Egyptians who ate with him by themselves, because the Egyptians could not eat bread with the Hebrews, for that is ^(A)an abomination to the Egyptians.

³⁴ then you shall say, ‘Your servants have been ^[a](A)keepers of livestock from our youth and until now, both we and our fathers,’ that you may ^[b]live in the land of ^(B)Goshen; for every shepherd is ^(C)an abomination to the Egyptians.”

²⁵ The graven images of their gods you are to ^(A)burn with fire; you shall ^(B)not covet the silver or the gold that is on them, nor take it for yourselves, lest you be ^(C)snared by it, for it is an ^(D)abomination to Yahweh your God. ²⁶ And you shall not bring an abomination into your house and become devoted to ^(E)destruction like it; you shall utterly detest it, and you shall utterly abhor it, for it is devoted to destruction.
