When Joseph came in and looked at them in the morning, he saw that they were sad. So he asked these men who had worked for Pharaoh and who were with him in prison in his boss’s house, “Why are your faces so sad today?” They said to him, “We have had a dream and there is no one to tell us what it means.” Then Joseph said to them, “Do not the meanings of dreams belong to God? Tell them to me.”

When Joseph came to them the next morning, he saw that they were dejected. So he asked Pharaoh’s officials who were in custody(A) with him in his master’s house, “Why do you look so sad today?”(B)

“We both had dreams,” they answered, “but there is no one to interpret them.”(C)

Then Joseph said to them, “Do not interpretations belong to God?(D) Tell me your dreams.”
