Genesis 4:6-8
Good News Translation
6 Then the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry? Why that scowl on your face? 7 If you had done the right thing, you would be smiling;[a] but because you have done evil, sin is crouching at your door. It wants to rule you, but you must overcome it.”
8 (A)Then Cain said to his brother Abel, “Let's go out in the fields.”[b] When they were out in the fields, Cain turned on his brother and killed him.

Genesis 4:6-8
New International Version
6 Then the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry?(A) Why is your face downcast? 7 If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door;(B) it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.(C)”
8 Now Cain said to his brother Abel, “Let’s go out to the field.”[a] While they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him.(D)
