23 Then Lamech said unto his wives, Adah and Zillah, Hear my voice, ye wives of Lamech; hearken unto my speech: [a]for I would slay a man in my wound, and a young man to mine hurt.
24 If Cain shall be avenged sevenfold, truly Lamech [b]seventy times sevenfold.
25 ¶ And Adam knew his wife again, and she bare a son, and she called his name Seth: for God, said she, hath appointed me another seed for Abel, because Cain slew him.

New International Version
23 Lamech said to his wives,
“Adah and Zillah, listen to me;
wives of Lamech, hear my words.
I have killed(A) a man for wounding me,
a young man for injuring me.
24 If Cain is avenged(B) seven times,(C)
then Lamech seventy-seven times.(D)”
25 Adam made love to his wife(E) again, and she gave birth to a son and named him Seth,[a](F) saying, “God has granted me another child in place of Abel, since Cain killed him.”(G)
