The Voice
Eternal One: 15 That’s not the case! Whoever kills you will suffer My vengeance and pay the penalty seven times!
Then God put a special mark on Cain, so that no one who came in contact with him would try to kill him.
16 Then Cain went away from the Eternal’s presence and settled in the land of Nod, a place for wanderers, to the east of Eden. 17 Cain made love to his wife, and she conceived and gave birth to Enoch. Cain built a city there and named it Enoch after his son.

15 But the Lord said to him, “Not so[a]; anyone who kills Cain(A) will suffer vengeance(B) seven times over.(C)” Then the Lord put a mark on Cain so that no one who found him would kill him. 16 So Cain went out from the Lord’s presence(D) and lived in the land of Nod,[b] east of Eden.(E)
17 Cain made love to his wife,(F) and she became pregnant and gave birth to Enoch. Cain was then building a city,(G) and he named it after his son(H) Enoch.
