The Voice
35 All of his sons and daughters tried to comfort him, but he refused to be comforted.
Israel: No, I will go to the grave grieving for my son.
Israel is inconsolable. His grief over his son transcends even death itself.
This is how deeply Joseph’s father grieved for him. 36 Meanwhile, the Midianites arrived in Egypt and sold Joseph to Potiphar, one of Pharaoh’s officers and the captain of the guard.

New International Version
35 All his sons and daughters came to comfort him,(A) but he refused to be comforted.(B) “No,” he said, “I will continue to mourn until I join my son(C) in the grave.(D)” So his father wept for him.
36 Meanwhile, the Midianites[a](E) sold Joseph(F) in Egypt to Potiphar, one of Pharaoh’s officials, the captain of the guard.(G)
