35 Though all his sons and daughters tried to comfort him, he refused all consolation, saying, “No, I will go down to the grave, to my son, mourning.” And his father wept for him.
36 In Egypt the Midyanim sold Yosef to Potifar, one of Pharaoh’s officials, a captain of the guard.

35 All his sons and daughters came to comfort him,(A) but he refused to be comforted.(B) “No,” he said, “I will continue to mourn until I join my son(C) in the grave.(D)” So his father wept for him.
36 Meanwhile, the Midianites[a](E) sold Joseph(F) in Egypt to Potiphar, one of Pharaoh’s officials, the captain of the guard.(G)
