35 All of his sons and daughters got up to comfort him, but he refused to be comforted, telling them, “I’ll go to my grave mourning for my son.” And Joseph’s father wept for him. 36 Meanwhile the Midianites had sold Joseph to the Egyptians, to Potiphar, Pharaoh’s chief officer, commander of the royal guard.

35 All his sons and daughters came to comfort him,(A) but he refused to be comforted.(B) “No,” he said, “I will continue to mourn until I join my son(C) in the grave.(D)” So his father wept for him.
36 Meanwhile, the Midianites[a](E) sold Joseph(F) in Egypt to Potiphar, one of Pharaoh’s officials, the captain of the guard.(G)
