Jacob Is Named Israel

Then God appeared to Jacob again when he came from Paddan-aram, and He (A)blessed him. 10 (B)God said to him,

“Your name is Jacob;
[a]You shall no longer be called Jacob,
But Israel shall be your name.”

Thus He called [b]him Israel. 11 God also said to him,

“I am [c](C)God Almighty;
(D)Be fruitful and multiply;
A nation and a (E)company of nations shall [d]come from you,
And (F)kings shall [e]come forth from [f]you.
