2 Then Jacob said unto his household and to all that were with him, Put away the strange gods that are among you and be clean and change your garments:
3 And let us arise and go up to Bethel and I will make there an altar unto God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and has been with me in the way which I have gone.
4 So they gave unto Jacob all the strange gods which were in their power and all their earrings which were in their ears, and Jacob hid them under the oak which was by Shechem.

2 So Jacob said to his household(A) and to all who were with him, “Get rid of the foreign gods(B) you have with you, and purify yourselves and change your clothes.(C) 3 Then come, let us go up to Bethel, where I will build an altar to God,(D) who answered me in the day of my distress(E) and who has been with me wherever I have gone.(F)” 4 So they gave Jacob all the foreign gods they had and the rings in their ears,(G) and Jacob buried them under the oak(H) at Shechem.(I)
