Genesis 31:18-20

18 northern Syria[a] for the home of his father Isaac in Canaan. Jacob took along all his flocks, herds, and other property.

19 Before Rachel left, she stole the household idols[b] while Laban was out shearing his sheep.

20 Jacob tricked Laban the Aramean[c] by not saying that he intended to leave.

New International Version

18 and he drove all his livestock ahead of him, along with all the goods he had accumulated(A) in Paddan Aram,[a](B) to go to his father Isaac(C) in the land of Canaan.(D)

19 When Laban had gone to shear his sheep,(E) Rachel stole her father’s household gods.(F) 20 Moreover, Jacob deceived(G) Laban the Aramean(H) by not telling him he was running away.(I)
