33 In time, she conceived again and gave birth to another son.

Leah: Because the Eternal One has heard I am unloved, He has given me this son too.

So Leah named the second son Simeon. 34 Then she conceived for the third time and gave birth to her third son.

Leah: Surely now my husband will be more attached to me, because I have given him three sons.

Leah named the third son Levi. 35 And once again, she conceived and gave birth to her fourth son.

Leah: This time I will praise the Eternal One!

So Leah named this son Judah. After Judah, Leah didn’t have any more children for a while.

33 She conceived again, and when she gave birth to a son she said, “Because the Lord heard that I am not loved,(A) he gave me this one too.” So she named him Simeon.[a](B)

34 Again she conceived, and when she gave birth to a son she said, “Now at last my husband will become attached to me,(C) because I have borne him three sons.” So he was named Levi.[b](D)

35 She conceived again, and when she gave birth to a son she said, “This time I will praise the Lord.” So she named him Judah.[c](E) Then she stopped having children.(F)
