3 When all the flocks were gathered there, the shepherds rolled the stone from the well’s opening, watered the sheep, then put the stone back on the well’s opening in its place.
4 Jacob said to them, “My brothers, where are you from?”
And they said, “We are from Harran.”
5 Then he said to them, “Do you know Laban the son of Nahor?”
And they said, “We know him.”

3 When all the flocks were gathered there, the shepherds would roll the stone(A) away from the well’s mouth and water the sheep.(B) Then they would return the stone to its place over the mouth of the well.
4 Jacob asked the shepherds, “My brothers, where are you from?”(C)
“We’re from Harran,(D)” they replied.
5 He said to them, “Do you know Laban, Nahor’s grandson?”(E)
“Yes, we know him,” they answered.
