17 He was afraid and said, “This place is so different! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven.”
18 So Jacob got up early in the morning. He took the stone he had used as a pillow, and set it up as a pillar. He poured oil on the top of it. 19 He gave that place the name Bethel. Its name had been Luz before.

18 Early the next morning Jacob took the stone he had placed under his head(C) and set it up as a pillar(D) and poured oil on top of it.(E) 19 He called that place Bethel,[a](F) though the city used to be called Luz.(G)
