32 Yitz’chak his father said to him, “Who are you?” and he answered, “I am your son, your firstborn, ‘Esav.” 33 Yitz’chak began trembling uncontrollably and said, “Then who was it that took game and brought it to me? I ate it all just before you came, and I gave my blessing to him. That’s the truth, and the blessing must stand.” 34 When ‘Esav heard his father’s words he burst into loud, bitter sobbing. “Father, bless me too,” he begged.

32 His father Isaac asked him, “Who are you?”(A)

“I am your son,” he answered, “your firstborn, Esau.(B)

33 Isaac trembled violently and said, “Who was it, then, that hunted game and brought it to me?(C) I ate it just before you came and I blessed him—and indeed he will be blessed!(D)

34 When Esau heard his father’s words, he burst out with a loud and bitter cry(E) and said to his father, “Bless(F) me—me too, my father!”
