Genesis 26:5-7

5 I’m going to do this because Abraham did what I told him to do. He kept my instructions, commands, statutes, and laws.”
6 So Isaac lived in Gerar.
Isaac Lies about His Wife
7 Later on, the men of that place asked about his wife, so he replied, “She’s my sister,” because he was afraid to call her “my wife.” He kept thinking, “…otherwise, the men around here will kill me on account of Rebekah, since she’s very beautiful.”

5 because Abraham obeyed me(A) and did everything I required of him, keeping my commands, my decrees(B) and my instructions.(C)” 6 So Isaac stayed in Gerar.(D)
7 When the men of that place asked him about his wife, he said, “She is my sister,(E)” because he was afraid to say, “She is my wife.” He thought, “The men of this place might kill me on account of Rebekah, because she is beautiful.”
