27 Isaac said to them, “Why have you come to me when you hate me and have sent me away from you?” 28 They said, “It is easy for us to see that the Lord is with you. So we said, ‘Let there now be a promise between us, between you and us. Let us make an agreement with you, 29 that you will not hurt us in any way. For we have not touched you, and have done nothing to you but good. We sent you away in peace. And you now have the Lord’s favor.’”

28 They answered, “We saw clearly that the Lord was with you;(B) so we said, ‘There ought to be a sworn agreement between us’—between us and you. Let us make a treaty(C) with you 29 that you will do us no harm,(D) just as we did not harm you but always treated you well and sent you away peacefully. And now you are blessed by the Lord.”(E)
