32 Esau said, “I am about to die; of what use is a birthright to me?” 33 Jacob said, “Swear to me now.” So he swore to him and (A)sold his birthright to Jacob. 34 Then Jacob gave Esau bread and lentil stew, and he ate and drank and rose and went his way. Thus Esau despised his birthright.

32 “Look, I am about to die,” Esau said. “What good is the birthright to me?”

33 But Jacob said, “Swear(A) to me first.” So he swore an oath to him, selling his birthright(B) to Jacob.

34 Then Jacob gave Esau some bread and some lentil stew.(C) He ate and drank, and then got up and left.

So Esau despised his birthright.
